Real Estate Data & Intelligence Engineer

Build Technologies•New York City, NY

About The Position

Build is developing an agentic AI stack for institutional real estate to automate development and acquisitions workflows and accelerate important built-world projects. The company partners with major investors, developers, and governments, and aims to help projects move from concept to completion with less delay, cost, and complexity. The Real Estate Data & Intelligence Engineer will turn fragmented real estate information into a trusted, unified view of each site and asset, and build intelligence on top of that data. Sources include parcel and title records, planning and zoning portals, grid and utility data, transaction comparables, and geospatial layers. Working with the geospatial team and domain experts, the engineer will identify valuable sources, connect and cross-reference them, detect inconsistencies and hidden assumptions, and deliver usable answers for Build’s AI workflows and clients. The role owns the real estate data layer, entity resolution and data quality, property intelligence, onboarding new data sources, and the speed, reliability, and coverage of these capabilities as Build expands into new markets.

Responsibilities

  • Ingest, clean, link, and cross-reference property, land, power, planning, and market data sources into a unified record for each site and asset.
  • Match parcels, owners, titles, and addresses across sources, and flag conflicts and data gaps before they affect decisions.
  • Develop intelligence including comparable selection, valuation and NOI inputs, distress and pricing-gap signals, and risk and red-flag detection.
  • Find, evaluate, and onboard data sources that improve the speed and accuracy of site validation.
  • Maintain and improve the speed, reliability, and coverage of data and intelligence capabilities as Build expands into new markets.
  • Work with the geospatial team and domain experts to determine which data sources matter, connect and cross-reference them, identify inconsistencies and assumptions, and create actionable answers for AI workflows and clients.
