About The Position

The Real Estate Banking Associate is directly involved in the design, origination, structuring, and execution of products and services for existing and prospective clients. Associates also assist in the cultivation of client relationships by conducting research, staying abreast of client and industry trends, and participating in industry and client related strategic and tactical planning. Associates participate in client meetings, due diligence visits, and other client interactions during which they gain exposure to key executives and senior bankers. Associates provide these services as part of a client team that also consists of Analysts, Vice Presidents, and Directors/Managing Directors. Real Estate Banking Associates work within an industry segment in Real Estate Banking (income property finance, homebuilder finance).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field with a proven record of high achievement
  • Three (3) years of relevant work experience in real estate banking
  • Formal credit training

Responsibilities

  • Supports senior bankers in their relationship responsibilities, including idea generation and interaction with current and prospective clients
  • Maintains proprietary databases through monitoring news, current events, transactions and financial information for clients, prospects, and other industry participants
  • Understands client needs and identifies Regions products and services, or other unique, actionable ideas that can help clients achieve their goals
  • Develops and maintains detailed financial models to value companies and depict projected financial results
  • Ensures high quality of client deliverables by having strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
  • Assists in the preparation of written material, including pitches, proposals, client materials and associated supporting analyses
  • Conducts extensive financial and industry due diligence to evaluate the risk/return parameters of a transaction
  • Participates in the recruitment, development, training, and oversight of junior resources
