About The Position

The Reagent Manufacturing Associate performs entry-level operations in reagent bead manufacturing, including sorting, aliquoting, labware cleaning, inspecting small beads, and packing and sampling reagent beads from a freeze-drier. The associate maintains a work area compliant with GLP and cGMP requirements, follows Zoetis safety practices and company procedures, and keeps accurate logs and operational binders. The role also supports development and maintenance of manufacturing procedures and training new hires. This is a 12-month temporary assignment based onsite in Union City, California, on a first shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Requirements

Working knowledge of basic laboratory techniques.
Detail-oriented and organized.
Good communication skills.
Some technical and mechanical skills.
Computer skills, including Excel.
Able to lift 20 pounds.
Able to use personal protective equipment, including hair covers, masks, eye protection, and gloves.
High school diploma or GED preferred; in its absence, 3 years of relevant manufacturing experience or 5 years of overall experience.
0 to 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Experience in a fast-paced environment or medical device company is helpful.

Responsibilities

Perform entry-level operations, including sorting, aliquoting, and labware cleaning.
Reliably inspect small beads.
Pack and sample reagent beads coming out of the freeze-drier.
Maintain the work area in compliance with GLP and cGMP.
Follow Zoetis safety practices, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
Maintain accurate logs and operational binders.
Provide feedback to the Supervisor when a deviation from accepted practice or a safety issue is recognized.
Assist in developing and maintaining procedures used in Reagent Bead manufacturing.
Train new hires.
Keep up with the flow of production.
