About The Position

The D.A. Collins Family of Companies has brought safety, quality, and productivity to industrial, infrastructure, highway, and bridge construction for over 75 years. As a member of the D.A. Collins Companies, Jointa Galusha, LLC./Pallette Stone Corp. is seeking reliable and motivated individuals for full-time positions as ready-mixed concrete truck drivers for both our Saratoga Springs, NY and Glens Falls, NY production locations. The responsibility of this position is to assure the safe and timely delivery of concrete to the customer. The timely return to the assigned batch plant for future loads is critical. Proper maintenance and care of the ready-mix concrete truck, completion of all paperwork, assisting with plant work, and maintaining good public relations with customers is needed. Requirements

  • Must be able to take orders, instructions, and guidance from supervisors.
  • Must have a valid Department of Transportation certified Type A or B CDL.
  • Must be able to pass a U.S. Department of Transportation drug/alcohol screening and physical.
  • Must possess and maintain a satisfactory driving record in accordance with Federal and State Motor Carrier Regulations and Company policy.
  • Must possess Department of Transportation Medical Certification Card.

Responsibilities

  • Assure the safe and timely delivery of concrete to the customer.
  • Timely return to the assigned batch plant for future loads.
  • Proper maintenance and care of the ready-mix concrete truck.
  • Completion of all paperwork.
  • Assisting with plant work.
  • Maintaining good public relations with customers.
  • Perform a variety of tasks that will include having to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods of time, stretch, walk, climb and bend under potentially adverse field conditions and be able to perform visual tasks such as backup spotting and hear and react to back up alarms, per safety protocol.
  • Adhere to safety requirements and procedures, wearing required safety equipment.
  • Take responsibility for customer relationships, appropriately represent Jointa-Pallette while on job sites and while transporting product on public streets and highways.
  • Climb in and out of the truck many times a day.
  • Climb a ladder on the front of the truck.
  • Carry and attach chute extensions weighing approximately 50lbs.
  • Wash and clean their trucks with brushes and hoses; this requires a fair amount of climbing on the truck.
