T26/27 READING TEACHER (Taylor ES)
About The Position
This position is a 1.0 FTE located at Taylor Elementary School. It requires a candidate who must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure and a reading endorsement (masters in reading or masters in another teaching area plus reading endorsement). Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is preferred but not required. The role involves implementing instructional programs, maintaining a safe environment, communicating with parents, keeping accurate student records, collaborating with various stakeholders, monitoring student achievement, and attending professional development.
Requirements
- Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure.
- Must have or be eligible for reading endorsement (masters in reading or masters in another teaching area plus reading endorsement).
- Teaching experience in the above mentioned area
- Knowledge of best instructional practices
- Ability to integrate technology
- Experience in educational and instructional leadership

Responsibilities
- Implements instructional programs that meet the needs, interests and abilities of students using appropriate instructional materials
- Maintains safe and orderly environment
- Communicates with parents/guardians

- Collaborates with school administrators, other teachers, instructional assistants, parents, and community members
- Monitors and assesses student achievement
- Attends ongoing professional learning and meetings
