About The Position

Arlington Public Schools is seeking a Reading Specialist for an Elementary Position beginning in the 2026-2027 school year. The role involves working with students in grades K-5 who require reading intervention services. This can be done through push-in and/or pull-out settings, either individually or in small groups. The Reading Specialist may also provide in-classroom support and collaborate with classroom teachers and special educators. Requirements

  • K-12 Reading License
  • Familiarity with Fundations, Orton Gillingham, Read Naturally, Wilson, and other reading programs
  • Experience supporting students in need of reading support at the elementary school level
  • Awareness of the role bias and prejudice play in society
  • Willingness to try new approaches
  • Reflective about daily practice
  • Eagerness to collaborate and contribute to student success
  • Readiness to engage in two-way partnership with families
