About The Position

This position is a 1.0 FTE located at Swanson Middle School. It requires the ability to function as a member of a team, flexibility, dependability, and strong organizational skills. The role demands current knowledge of language arts research and practice, as well as group and individual assessment interpretation. The Reading Specialist will also lead team meetings and language arts committees as needed.

Requirements

• Experience working with middle school students.
• Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure.
• Must have or be eligible for reading endorsement (masters in reading or masters in another teaching area plus reading endorsement.

Nice To Haves

• Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is preferred but not required.
