About The Position

SUMMARY: The Reading Paraprofessional position supports students in the reading program. Reading Paraprofessionals work on student days following T/ESD school calendar year. Typical scheduled hours for Elementary: 8:30-4:00p / Middle School: 8:15AM - 3:15PM / High School: 7:30-3:00. Position schedule may vary depending upon assignment. 11 paid holidays & 7 days of paid time off (pro-rated based on start date). The hourly pay-rate for Reading Paraprofessional is $23.94 per hour.
Requirements
- Candidates must be a PA certified teacher.
- Clearances current within 12 months
- PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance
- PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance
- PA Department of Education FBI – Use code 1KG6XN
- TB Screening - current within 3 months
- Education Documentation - Diploma OR Official Transcripts
Responsibilities
- Provide direct instruction to students in the reading support program, working under the supervision of a Reading Specialists.
- Deliver small group reading instruction to students as part of the regular education intervention program.
- In consultation with the reading specialist, plan, deliver instruction, administer assessments, and participate in the collection, organization, and interpretation of learning data.
