Requirements
- Valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate (English Language Arts)
Nice To Haves
- Reading Specialist Certification or Reading Endorsement
- Experience with literacy intervention and assessment
- Knowledge of adolescent literacy development and evidence-based reading intervention strategies
- Experience with literacy assessment and data-driven instruction
- Strong organizational, classroom management, and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Provide targeted reading intervention through individual and small-group instruction for students with identified literacy needs.
- Assess, monitor, and analyze student progress using diagnostic and formative measures to inform instruction.
- Design and implement differentiated, evidence-based lessons addressing phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
- Observe students in classroom settings and adjust intervention strategies based on academic and behavioral needs.
- Utilize instructional technology and participate in ongoing professional development to enhance literacy instruction.
- Consult frequently with classroom teachers on matters relating to reading instruction using our progress-monitoring instruments as a base.
- Familiar with the NJTSS process and Tiered instruction.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and intervention outcomes using LinkIt Intervention Manager.
- Adhere to all district, state, and federal policies and uphold professional ethical standards.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student achievement and communicate progress.
- Support a positive school environment and communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
- Ensure continuity of instruction during absences and perform additional duties as assigned.
