About The Position

American Academy (AA) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Part-time READ Act Facilitator to support student literacy growth and ensure compliance with Colorado’s READ Act requirements. This role plays a critical part in improving reading outcomes for students by coordinating interventions, supporting teachers, and partnering with families. The READ Act Facilitator reports to the Deputy Executive Director of Schools (DEDS) and collaborates closely with school leadership and teachers to drive student success. This role is a 0.7 FTE and entails both remote and in-person work commitments.

Requirements

  • Background in education, literacy instruction, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of reading intervention strategies and student data analysis
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain detailed records

  • Experience with READ Act processes or similar literacy programs preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support coordination of student placement in READ intervention groups
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of READ Act interventions and provide actionable feedback to teachers and administration
  • Provide teachers with prior-year student goals and progress updates to ensure continuity of instruction
  • Foster a positive, collaborative school environment through clear and timely communication
  • Partner with teachers to support effective instructional practices and student learning outcomes
  • Guide staff on communicating student progress and READ plan information to families
  • Serve as a resource for families, staff, and educational teams regarding READ plans
  • Maintain professionalism, integrity, and adherence to school policies and core values
  • Participate in meetings and contribute to school-wide initiatives
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for families of newly identified READ plan students
  • Manage and submit all required READ Act documentation to the district and state
  • Maintain accurate records of student data, communication, and intervention plans
  • Collaborate with the Academic Team to improve identification, intervention, and monitoring processes
  • Effectively manage time and responsibilities, including meetings, documentation, and communication
  • Stay current on READ Act requirements and district guidance
  • Attend district-led READ Act meetings and communicate updates to school leadership
  • Provide professional development to staff on READ Act expectations and best practices
  • Identify and pursue ongoing professional growth opportunities
