About The Position

DS2 is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Mission Planning Department. The role involves creating mission-critical software for defense applications and working on new and emerging technologies. DS2 provides full life-cycle software engineering services and emphasizes teamwork, customer focus, and hiring talented individuals. The company culture values both hard work and work-life balance. This position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to pass a government background investigation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar technical field and 15 years of experience
• Actively programs with one or more of the following languages: C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Typescript
• Demonstrates strong fundamental skills in software design and development and the ability to coordinate the team’s workflow
• Engages with teammates, both virtually and face-to-face, to plan projects, seek out or provide help on issues, as well as present solutions to clients
• Manages time well and can prioritize tasks to ensure projects are completed on time
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation

Nice To Haves

• Experience using Web frameworks such as React, Node.js, Vue.js, Next.js, ASP.NET, or Angular
• Experience developing containerized microservices in a Kubernetes environment
• Background in developing mission planning applications for the DoW
• Examples of code or applications you’ve built
• Proficient with multiple IDEs, Languages, or Frameworks
• Background taking an entire development through launch
• Proficiency with AI-Assisted software development workflows
• Received one or more Scrum, Microsoft, Google Developer certifications or any other technical certifications

Responsibilities

• Play a key role in designing, developing, deploying, and demonstrating feature-rich applications and R&D projects
• Work on the Next-Generation Open Mission Planning System for the DoW
• Articulate the long-term vision for projects and translate it into detailed features and feasible software designs
• Develop the architectural runway necessary for large solutions
• Learn emerging technologies and programming tools to keep you and your team as well equipped as possible
