About The Position

This role is responsible for operating forklifts safely and efficiently to handle all freight, both inbound and outbound, in an orderly manner. The position involves maintaining the warehouse area with proper stacking and good housekeeping, loading and unloading trucks and trailers, and ensuring all shipments are correctly staged, checked, and loaded. The Case Picker is also responsible for properly storing stock in the warehouse and performing material handling services for warehouse shipping and receiving activities. This role works from warehouse operations sheets using a forklift to pick customer orders and load them onto trailers, while consistently maintaining forklift safety and adhering to all safety policies and procedures.

High School Diploma or general education diploma (GED).
3-6 months of forklift driving experience in a warehouse using sit down forklifts and Electric Pallet Jacks.
Experience in building pallets with stock and breaking down stock to fill independent orders.
Experience in cross docking freight process.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to determine "root cause" of problem and determine corrective action.
Knowledge of Business Operating Systems, Internet software, Word Processing, and Spreadsheet software.
Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to activate phone systems utilizing keyboards and buttons.
Must be articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others.
Regularly works in an indoor/office environment and required to sit and/or use repetitive hand motion.
Frequently required to talk, hear, bend over, squat, reach, push, pull, stand and walk.
Must be able to work in excess of continuous 8 hours when required.
Must be able to work under stressful situations, have good cognitive skills, maintain work accuracy, and the ability to concentrate on more than one task at a time.
Must have the ability to read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision.
Must be able to speak and communicate clearly over telephones.
Must be in sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician with no evidence of the use of controlled substances.

Responsibilities

Operate forklifts safely and efficiently.
Handle all freight inbound or outbound properly and orderly.
Maintain warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping.
Load and unload RJW truck/trailers and outside carriers safely using proper procedures.
Ensure all shipments are correctly staged, checked, and loaded properly.
Properly store stock in the warehouse.
Perform duties to provide material handling services for warehouse shipping and receiving handling activities.
Pick customer orders and load on trailers using a forklift based on warehouse operations sheets.
Maintain forklift safety at all times following all safety policies and procedures.
Assist Cross Dock Supervisor to ensure efficient operation of the warehouse.
Operate sit down forklifts and/or EPJs.
Utilize RF Scanner, loading and unloading using forklift, QC, wrapping, staging and labeling.
Process outbound cross-dock freight as necessary.
Oversee storing stock properly in the warehouse and moving product into dock staging lanes or racks.
Record and verify the accuracy of shipments against paperwork for incoming and outgoing shipments/deliveries.
Ensure all documentation and paperwork is properly completed.
Complete daily forklift maintenance inspections.
Handle all customer products properly and orderly.
Check deliveries for poor packing, general condition of materials, and free of damage.
Alert Warehouse Supervisor of any problems, taking pictures if necessary.
Report all accidents/incidents, employee injuries, damage of stock, or building damage to the Shift Supervisor immediately.
Spot trailers to maintain efficient yard organization and flow of equipment.
Maintain access to dock doors, keeping them free of debris or snow.
Perform other tasks as assigned by manager.
