Reach Truck Operator
About The Position
The Reach Truck Operator is responsible for various warehouse duties including locating proper slots on storage racks, setting pallets in place, entering product data, and transporting freight. This role involves replenishing pick slots, rotating stock, dispersing overstocked items, and removing waste materials. The operator must also inspect pallets, follow safety procedures, ensure a safe work area, and wear required personal protective equipment. Additionally, they need to meet productivity and accuracy standards, work from various instructions, inspect items for damage, perform temperature and quality checks, and complete general housekeeping duties. End-of-shift responsibilities include securing equipment and completing necessary paperwork.
Requirements
- Must be able to be certified on all equipment used on shift by Kuna Foodservice.
- Must be at least 18 years of ages.
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
- Must have sufficient reasoning capabilities to solve practical problems (Ex.: Is product commercially acceptable? Is this the product the customer ordered?)
- Must be able to hear commands given via pick-to-voice application.
- Must have basic math skills.
- Must be able to work in a variety of temperatures. (From -10 to 55+ degrees)
- Must be able to work overtime, as required.

Responsibilities
- Locates proper slot on storage racks, set pallets in place with forklift or hand stack items, enter product data and location into appropriate unit.
- Locates and performs count check of incoming freight in the staging area and transport to freezer with forklift/pallet jack.
- Replenishes pick slots with outgoing stock items according to next day’s work orders.
- Rotates date-sensitive stock to the front of the rack and/or remove outdated out-of-date inventory according to company policy.
- Disperses over-stocked items to available slots for temporary storage.
- Removes empty pallets, cardboard packing, and strapping to the proper area or receptacles.
- Inspects empty pallets for damage, stack and move pallets with pallet jack or forklift to the proper storage area.
- Follows all preferred work methods, safety policies and procedures per company guidelines.
- Ensures the work area is safe and reports any unsafe conditions and/or acts immediately.
- Obtains supplies required to perform the work and prepares for operations.
- Puts on all required Personal Protective Equipment and Safety Gear.
- Meets required productivity and accuracy standards.
- Works from receiving sheets, computer print-out, established procedures and practices, written and/or verbal instructions.
- Inspects items for damage, performs temperature and quality checks and takes appropriate action as needed.
- Performs general housekeeping duties in work area as needed.
- Completes vehicle inspection checklist.
- Secures all equipment and completes all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
