About The Position

The REACH Across Alabama Program Manager oversees the planning and development for the REACH Across Alabama program initiatives and models to prepare for the competitive AmeriCorps Operational Grant application process. Conducts statewide student assessments, develops individualized success plans, monitors academic progress, and provides coaching with the goal of providing students with opportunities to make permanent, positive connections and academic achievement. Provides comprehensive case management and student success services to an assigned caseload of Alabama REACH scholars to promote academic success, retention, persistence, graduation, and post-graduate success. The Alabama REACH Program is a nationally recognized student success initiative serving students with lived experience in foster care, homelessness, kinship care, and other barriers to higher education. This position supports the expansion of REACH through REACH Across Alabama, a statewide planning initiative funded by an AmeriCorps Planning Grant. Collaborates with campus and community partners throughout Alabama to develop a sustainable framework that expands educational opportunity, student success, and community engagement across the state.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of student retention or engagement experience; OR master's degree and two (2) years of student retention or engagement experience.
Must have valid U.S. driver's license.
Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies.
Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong project management, organizational, and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of case management and student success principles.
Knowledge of program planning, strategic planning, assessment, and evaluation methodologies.
Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data to inform decision-making and program development.
Ability to build collaborative partnerships, facilitate stakeholder engagement, and work independently while collaborating effectively with a variety of campus, community, and state partners.

Nice To Haves

Master's degree in Higher Education, Social Work, Counseling, Public Administration, Education, or a related field and three (3) years of progressively responsible professional experience in program administration, strategic planning, higher education, social services, community engagement, or grant-funded initiatives.
Experience leading grant-funded programs or strategic planning initiatives.
Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating programs.
Experience conducting community or statewide needs assessments.
Experience facilitating stakeholder engagement.
Experience building collaborative partnerships across higher education, nonprofit organizations, and public agencies.
Experience supporting underserved populations, including students with lived experience in foster care, homelessness, kinship care, first-generation status, or rural communities.
Experience providing student success services or case management in higher education.
Experience preparing competitive grant applications, particularly AmeriCorps grants.
