About The Position

This role involves learning and developing inspection recipes and applications used to characterize semiconductor manufacturing processes. The position supports experiments, technology development activities, and manufacturing process monitoring. A key aspect of the role is collecting, analyzing, and visualizing manufacturing data to identify trends, process excursions, and improvement opportunities. The engineer will also assist in developing statistical process control (SPC) methodologies and monitoring strategies, and use software, scripting, and data analysis tools to process and interpret inspection data. Collaboration with various engineering teams, including process integration, yield, manufacturing, equipment, and technology development, is essential. The role also involves identifying and communicating process anomalies, supporting root cause investigations, and participating in technical reviews to generate innovative ideas for process monitoring and defect detection. Developing knowledge of advanced inspection and metrology systems is also a part of this position. Additionally, the role supports global alignment efforts and the implementation of best-known methods across manufacturing sites. A significant focus will be on demonstrating AI proficiency by effectively using Micron-approved AI tools and technologies to improve productivity, accelerate learning, assist with technical problem solving, and support data-driven decision making, all while adhering to Micron AI governance policies. Continuous development of AI skills and application of AI-enabled ways of working to improve operational efficiency, knowledge discovery, documentation, workflow execution, and collaboration across teams is expected.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field: Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related engineering or scientific subject area.
  • Graduation within the past 12 months or expected completion prior to start date.
  • Demonstrated interest in semiconductor technology through coursework, laboratory research, internships, co-ops, or technical projects.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic programming or scripting experience in languages such as Python, C/C++, MATLAB, SQL, or similar.
  • Experience analyzing technical data and drawing conclusions from experimental results.
  • Communicate technical information effectively in both written and verbal formats.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities
