About The Position

The RD PM Specialist is responsible for driving the day-to-day execution of R&D projects to accelerate product development cycles and minimize engineering waste. This position coordinates cross-functional activities, tracks project milestones and deliverables, manages BOM and engineering changes, and ensures prototype builds are supported with the required materials and resources. The role works closely with R&D Engineering, Supply Chain, Lab Operations, and other cross-functional teams to identify risks early, maintain project visibility, and ensure timely execution of development activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, Business, Project Management, or a related field is required.
  • 1–3 years of experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), project coordination, milestone tracking, and project management tools such as Jira, MS Project, or Smartsheet.
  • 1–2 years of experience managing BOMs, product configurations, hardware part numbers, revisions, and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), with strong attention to detail.
  • 1–2 years of experience tracking components, material availability, and Clean-to-Build activities to support prototype builds and product development.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and data management skills with the ability to organize, analyze, validate, and maintain complex project data.
  • Ability to proactively identify schedule delays, material shortages, project dependencies, and other risks and develop effective solutions to minimize project impact.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear project status reports, dashboards, and project health updates for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and follow-up skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, R&D environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and action items across R&D Engineering, Supply Chain, Lab Operations, and other cross-functional teams; track progress, follow up on outstanding tasks, and proactively address schedule delays and dependencies.
  • Maintain and monitor BOM accuracy, completeness, revisions, part numbers, quantities, and system configurations; identify discrepancies and coordinate resolution with Engineering and Supply Chain teams.
  • Coordinate ECO processing, documentation, approvals, implementation, and follow-up while communicating the impact of engineering changes on materials, schedules, prototype builds, and project milestones.
  • Plan and coordinate prototype builds by tracking component availability, Clean-to-Build status, material readiness, and build requirements; work with Supply Chain and Engineering to resolve material shortages and component delays.
  • Identify project risks, schedule slippages, material shortages, and cross-functional dependencies; prepare concise project status reports, dashboards, and project health updates for management and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with lab technicians to support prototype builds, testing activities, hardware allocation, and lab resources while maintaining accurate records of hardware availability and utilization.
