About The Position

Zurich is seeking a RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster I, RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster II, or RCIS Crop Claims Specialist to join their team in Kansas. This is a remote, home-based position requiring approximately 50% travel within the state. The role involves inspecting fields, measuring storage bins, discussing crop loss with farmers, and determining potential indemnities. The ideal candidate will have experience in agriculture or crop insurance and possess strong communication and organizational skills. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • RCIS Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program Certification (CAPP) must be obtained with 180 days of hire date (for I and Specialist levels)
  • Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program Certification (CAPP) required (for II level)
  • Reliable personal transportation and travel within territory
  • Valid Driver’s License (for I level)
  • RCIS Crop Adjuster Physical Requirements: walk in agricultural fields up to 3 miles, climb agricultural storage bins up to 25 feet, lift 25 lbs. to 50 lbs., work outdoors in varying temperatures/weather conditions
  • 6 or more months of experience in the agricultural area (for I level)
  • 2 or more years of experience in the crop insurance and claims adjusting area (for II level)
  • 4 or more years of experience in the agricultural or the crop insurance industry (for Specialist level)
  • Personal transportation and travel within assigned territory and travel outside of assigned area to assist with workload(s), participate on CAT team and/or provide remote assistance for the CROP Claims Care Center calls and/or CCP Claims (for Specialist level)

Responsibilities

  • Completes field inspections and related responsibilities such as reading maps and aerial photos, measuring fields, storage bins, and discussing findings of crop loss with farmers on the most complex non-routine, problematic claims including controversial claims.
  • Conveys complex regulations and interpretations to claimants, agents, and industry people on claim situations.
  • Performs fact finding regarding crop damage, records information and transmits loss information to accurately determine potential indemnities.
  • Gathers relevant facts, utilizing applicable law and establishing basic principles of negligence.
  • Completes claim reviews and audits on lower-level adjusters as assigned.
  • Ensures legal compliance by maintaining a strong working knowledge of regulatory and company policies and procedures.
  • Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed.
