Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major.
  • Design, analysis, test, and/or simulation experience with one or more of the following non-isolated converter topologies: buck, boost, buck-boost.
  • Familiarity using tools such as MATLAB, MathCAD, Mathematica, or other similar tools.
  • Coursework related to analog electronics design, including at least one of the following: FETs/BJTs, op-amp, high/low/band pass filters, clock/data termination, and comparator circuits.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with wide bandgap devices (SiC, GaN) in power electronics designs.
  • Simulators such as SIMPLIS or SABER, or Mentor Graphics DxDesigner, and/or Hyperlynx.
  • Design considerations for voltages > 400V and/or power > 10kW.
  • Three-phase power systems, power factor control, and inverter/rectifier development.

Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, simulate, test, and document power conversion (and related analog) circuitry. This circuitry will dominantly involve non-isolated and isolated switch mode power converters and linear converters.
  • Main emphasis is on board-mounted power end use applications.
  • Help to see circuit card development through its design phases, from requirements definition through initial integration testing.
  • Guide ECAD drafters through layout and routing activities, with support from senior engineers.
  • Function as an individual contributor.
  • Understand the role of a small team and engage in personal technical growth.
  • Clearly present your work product to functional and program leadership.
