Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or related technical field.
  • Experience in quality, manufacturing, or supplier quality (raw materials experience preferred).
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, data analysis, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee qualification and requalification of raw materials, including specification development, risk-based assessments, and approval of material documentation (e.g., CoAs) with defined acceptance criteria.
  • Manage material changes through established change control processes.
  • Lead incoming quality control (IQC) activities, including sampling, test coordination, material disposition, and prioritized release to support production timelines.
  • Investigate and resolve nonconformances, including out-of-specification results, to ensure material quality and compliance.
  • Act as the quality interface for raw material suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance and lead issue resolution, including corrective actions when needed.
  • Support supplier qualification and audit activities.
  • Partner with Supply Chain and Operations to ensure accurate inventory, traceability, and material availability.
  • Enforce FIFO practices and support disposition of expired or nonconforming materials.
  • Improve material visibility, organization, and location accuracy.
  • Ensure accurate and compliant documentation of goods receipts, CoAs, and quality records (digital and physical).
  • Serve as SME for raw materials within SAP, including material master data and inspection workflows.
  • Support labeling systems (e.g., Visitrak) and drive system improvements.
  • Monitor raw material performance using control charts and trend analysis.
  • Support fingerprinting and characterization efforts for key materials.
  • Support and lead root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce variability, waste, and cycle time.
  • Work closely with Quality Control, Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering to ensure material readiness and quality.
  • Align priorities to support production schedules and business needs.
  • Maintain compliance with internal quality systems and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure audit readiness and support internal/external audits related to raw materials.
