About The Position

The Aerospace Material Specialist is responsible for ensuring the cost-effective, compliant, and reliable supply of raw materials supporting the Transparencies businesses. This role executes sourcing and supplier management strategies, supports material qualification and change management, and partners cross functionally to meet operational, quality, and financial objectives. The position operates as an individual contributor within a matrix organization, with accountability for assigned material categories and suppliers.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience managing raw materials and made to print components (e.g., chemicals, resins, films, coatings, sealants, or composites)
  • Advanced Excel and strong data analysis capability
  • Experience working with ERP and procurement systems (e.g., QAD, Oracle, SAP, e-procurement tools)
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred. Experience may be considered in lieu of education.

Responsibilities

  • Execute sourcing strategies for assigned raw material categories to ensure supply continuity, cost competitiveness, and compliance with business requirements.
  • Manage contracts/sourcing data in addition to acting as an escalation point to Supply Chain to support manufacturing demand and inventory targets.
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, R&D, Planning, Engineering, and Finance to align Aerospace material strategies with production needs, new product introductions, and qualification timelines.
  • Serve as the supply chain escalation point for assigned materials and suppliers.
  • Drive year-over-year cost improvements through negotiations, alternate sourcing, productivity initiatives, and market analysis.
  • Monitor price trends, cost drivers, and contractual commitments.
  • Leverage ERP and procurement systems to maintain accurate data and improve sourcing effectiveness.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that simplify processes, reduce complexity, and enhance supplier performance.
