About The Position
ScottMadden, a premier management consulting firm, is seeking driven candidates to join their team as an Analyst in their Rates and Regulatory Cost of Capital Group. This role offers the opportunity to apply analytical and research skills to tackle strategic issues in the energy and water industries. The firm partners with clients across industries to deliver innovative, results-driven solutions. Their Rates & Regulatory Practice focuses on utility regulation and strategy, addressing issues such as cost of capital, capital structure, rate design, cost allocation, decarbonization, and regulatory compliance. Requirements
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with experience handling large data sets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present findings clearly
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and team members
- Demonstrated initiative and eagerness to learn
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including strong Excel skills
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship now or in the future

Responsibilities
- Perform financial, economic and operational analyses using complex data sets and valuation models
- Benchmark utility practices to identify innovative approaches and best practices
- Conduct comprehensive policy research to analyze emerging trends and strategies in the gas and electric industries
- Assist with the development of expert testimony and reports for client engagements
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Summarize research findings and contribute to client deliverables
- Engage directly with clients on assigned tasks and present findings
- Support business development initiatives, including client proposal preparation
- Contribute to internal firm development activities to enhance best practices and knowledge sharing
