One full-time contract Rapid Re-Housing Worker position available, starting on August 03, 2026, and ending on March 31, 2027, working 37.5 hours per week.

Requirements

  • A degree or diploma in social services with relevant experience working in a community-based setting.
  • Experience in supportive counseling and case management.
  • Ability to work autonomously and decision-making ability is required.
  • Knowledge of the local housing market, Housing First principles, and community services within Waterloo Region.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Reliable transportation is essential for this position.
  • Required to hold a “G” class license and a two-million-dollar liability policy as part of personal car insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Works from a person-centered approach to assist individuals who are experiencing homelessness to access housing options and/or avoid a stay in emergency shelter.
  • Provides case management support to those experiencing homelessness to access permanent housing.
  • Provides short-term support to individuals to help maintain their housing stability once housed.
  • Works with Starling Housing Services teams and community partners to ensure a coordinated approach to preventing chronic homelessness in Waterloo Region.
  • Works in alignment with the Agency’s commitment to equity to further create a sense of belonging at the Agency.
