About The Position
As a Range Safety Officer at 88 Tactical, you will interact with people seeking a safe and enjoyable shooting experience. You will demonstrate proper firearm handling and shooting techniques, answer customers’ firearm and training questions, uphold safety protocols, and perform routine range maintenance. The role requires effective communication, close attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.
Requirements
- Highly self-motivated and able to work without direction.
- Ability to perform well under pressure.
- Flexibility to work mornings, nights, and weekends.
- Ability to work inside a shooting range facility.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, and transfer up to 50 pounds at any given time.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Firearms handling experience.
Responsibilities
- Ensure strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Supervise and direct a safe and efficient range.
- Enforce all firearms and range safety rules on the range.
- Conduct range safety briefings as necessary.
- Model safe firearm handling and compliance with range safety rules for customers.
- Assist shooters with stoppages, malfunctions, other range issues, and questions.
- Control the range and lead or assist with emergency procedures.
- Know and execute emergency response plans when required.
- Watch the CCTV camera system for safety violations.
- Contribute to team efforts by completing related tasks as needed.
- Restock targets and personal protective equipment.
- Perform point-of-sale check-in and verify release-of-liability waivers.
