About The Position

The Ramp Supervisor will be responsible for supervising the unloading and loading of luggage, freight and cargo on and off commercial aircraft. The Ramp Supervisor will also drive and operate small specialized commercial vehicles. This position will require heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and stretching.

Requirements

  • One (1) years of front-line ramp experience or similar role
  • Minimum one (1) year of lead or supervisory experience in a similar or related role
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Possess valid US driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and all pre-employment testing
  • Ability to proficiently read, write and speak English
  • Must be comfortable lifting 70lbs repetitively
  • Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions
  • Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Pass FBI background and obtain US Customs Seal
  • Must have high school diploma, GED

Responsibilities

  • Supervise lead agents; allocating ramp agent resources as needed
  • Move cargo and baggage on and off aircraft and transport it between aircraft, airport terminals, air cargo facilities, and other aircraft
  • Ensure that ramp personnel adhere to established company safety regulations
  • Perform as a mentor to other employees and provide training to new employees
  • Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems as needed for violations of company policy
  • Complete shift reports and sign timecards
  • Assist in the preparation of performance evaluation forms
  • Prepare disciplinary incident and or termination reports
  • Assist in the baggage handling area
  • Conduct shift briefings to ensure staff is organized and informed
  • Read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous material identification labels, aircraft loading manifests, and baggage and cargo routing tags
  • Operate motorized equipment
  • Take reasonable care of the health, safety and wellbeing of yourself and others in accordance with provided information, training, and workplace health and safety rules or procedures.
  • Report any significant deficiency in our products, materials and documents
  • Suggest any improvements to working practices, especially those relating to Safety and security
  • Read and signed the Station Quality Manual, Emergency Response Procedures Manual and the Station Security Manual.
