About The Position

As a Ramp Attendant, you will make a difference to our passengers by helping get their planes in and out on time through aircraft marshaling and ensuring their bags travel with them safely to their destination. You will be part of creating the best possible flying experience for our passengers. Requirements

  • Require a Valid Ontario (or out of town equivalent) license (G2 or higher) and clean drivers abstract
  • Ramp Attendants will be required to apply for and secure the necessary Airside Vehicle Operators Permit (AVOP) within three months of receipt of Transport Canada Security clearance
  • Must successfully complete a medical evaluation that includes a drug test
  • Ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances
  • Must be able to work on a permanent basis in Canada
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts including days, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Dependability (must have a clear attendance record and reliable on-time reporting for work)
  • Applicant will be required to successfully complete the training program
  • Must be capable of lifting/pushing/pulling up to 70lbs on a regular basis

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the safe and efficient handling of all Porter and Porter customer aircraft from a ramp handling perspective
  • Responsible for safe on-time performance and ensuring an excellent level of customer service
  • Ensure that all ramp personal are following proper Porter safe procedures as outlined in the Porter Ramp Manual
  • Responsible to ensure all ramp related functions are safely performed on all Porter and Porter customer aircraft
  • Aircraft marshalling
  • Baggage handling
  • Handling of Comat and Catering Supplies
  • Lavatory servicing
  • Potable Water servicing
  • Aircraft push backs and towing
  • Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy.
  • All other duties as assigned
