About The Position

McGee Air Services, an Alaska Airlines company, is hiring Ramp Agents to help keep flights moving safely and on time at PDX Airport. Whether you have experience in warehouse, logistics, outdoor work, athletics, customer service, or team-based environments — this could be a great fit for you. As a Ramp Agent, you’ll be part of the team responsible for loading and unloading baggage and cargo, marshaling and guiding aircraft, working outdoors in a fast-paced airport environment, supporting safe and on-time departures, and operating in a team-focused environment around aircraft.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to lift and move baggage/cargo regularly
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and carry baggage and cargo weighing up to 50 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 75 pounds or more.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, squatting, crawling, and twisting for extended periods (up to 8-hour shifts or more).
  • Ability to climb stairs/ladders and work in cramped or high places.
  • Manual dexterity required for handling documents and operating equipment.
  • Must be able to operate various ground support equipment (GSE) such as tugs, belt loaders, and baggage carts, which requires a valid driver's license and the physical capability to do so safely.
  • Clear vision (including depth perception and peripheral vision) and hearing are required for monitoring flight information, communication via radio/headsets, and safety compliance in a noisy environment.
  • The work environment is very noisy, near active aircraft engines and ground support machinery, and may involve exposure to fumes, dust, and other airborne particles.
  • May be required to complete a Physical Capabilities Test post offer that will demonstrate ability to lift, carry, and place weighted standardized boxes, suitcases, or duffel bags from floor height to overhead; climb steps carrying weighted standardized box, suitcase, or duffel bag; sit and rotate to the left, right, and behind and visually identify a letter or number; pull a weighted sled a standardized distance.
