Requirements

  • 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
  • Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
  • Wear all required PPE without restriction and pass any required medical exams
  • Speak, write, read fluent English
  • Regular on-site attendance and punctuality is required

Nice To Haves

  • Track inspection/maintenance experience preferred.
  • Railcar or industrial/mechanical experience is a plus.
  • May require a valid Driver’s License and / or a valid TWIC card, depending on work location
  • Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine railroad track inspections and document defects/conditions
  • Perform basic track maintenance and repairs using hand and power tools
  • Assist with track repairs, ballast work, fasteners, and rerailing as needed
  • Log inbound railcars and complete the site's established railcar inspection checklist
  • Document railcar defects and communicate cars requiring additional repair
  • Perform basic non-lading railcar repairs within the site's approved scope, including permitted brake-related items, placards, and other minor repairs
  • Maintain inspection and repair records
  • Work safely around railcars, locomotives, tracks, and other heavy equipment
  • Performs other duties as required to support safe and efficient track operations
