About The Position

Track Assemblers will use mechanical aptitude and skills to build full track panels, turnouts and crossings, as well as build other rail components to customer specifications. This role involves following instructions from blueprints, engineering change documents, and work instructions. The operations will consist of the manual assembly, fabrication, grinding, and fitting together of rail components such as frogs, switch rods, switch points, guard rail, and gage plates for final trackwork assembly.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent education and previous experience.
  • Ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be familiar with manufacturing environment, with use of industrial equipment and mechanics.
  • Ability to use various hand and power tools and measuring devices for completion of work.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure to the 1/32” and have experience using other instruments such as gauges, calipers, etc.
  • Must be able to read and write legibly and complete production reports with accuracy.
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to inspect rail using measuring devices practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior machine or grinder experience preferred.
