This position, a Roadway Worker in Charge (RWIC), is responsible for providing on-site roadway worker protection for activities on and around live railroad tracks. The role requires precise job site coordination, clear dispatcher/train communication, and consistent application of On-Track Safety procedures in both controlled and non-controlled track areas. It involves routine and extensive travel across multiple states including Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and Wyoming, requiring frequent overnight stays. Candidates must be adaptable to changing work environments and schedules while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
