About The Position

Road & Rail Services is hiring dependable, safety-focused individuals to join our Princeton, Indiana operation as Railcar Preppers. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys physical work, working outdoors, and being part of a team. Previous railroad experience is not required. We are looking for people who show up ready to work, follow safety procedures, pay attention to detail, and are willing to learn. As a Railcar Prepper, you will help inspect, clean, and prepare railcars before they are used to transport vehicles. Your work plays an important role in protecting customer vehicles and keeping rail operations moving safely and efficiently.

Valid state-issued driver's license

Ability to perform hands-on work in an outdoor rail environment

Nice To Haves

Previous railroad experience is not required.

Responsibilities

Inspect railcars for visible damage, wear, fatigue, or other concerns
Assist with safely opening and closing railcar end doors
Identify repair needs that fall within Road & Rail Services' approved scope of work
Remove dirt, debris, and other contaminants from railcars using backpack blowers, scrapers, and other equipment
Prepare railcars to help prevent damage to vehicles during loading and transportation
Properly use, inspect, and maintain assigned tools and equipment
Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards
Follow all company, customer, and industry safety requirements
Complete additional railcar preparation or housekeeping duties as assigned
