About The Position
You will perform the essential cleaning and inspection functions necessary to prepare railcars for transport. In this role, you will inspect railcars, install and position securement equipment, remove debris, and confirm each railcar meets safety and customer requirements before loading begins. This is an active, hands-on position that requires attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Requirements
- Valid state driver's license
- Safety first mentality
- Ability to work in fast paced environment
- Able to meet attendance requirements
- A teamwork, can do attitude and willing to learn
Responsibilities
- Comply with all industry, customer and company safety regulations and operating procedures
- Inspect and assist in opening and closing railcar end doors
- Inspect railcars for damage/fatigue
- Identify repairs that can be performed by Road & Rail Services
- Through the use of backpack blowers and various scraping devices remove all debris and other contaminates which could potentially cause vehicle damage
- Maintain accountability and maintenance for all assigned equipment
- Perform housekeeping duties as required by Management
