Your mission Bring stainless structures to spec. As a Fitter/Welder I, you will use drawings, jigs, and fixtures to weld, fit, tack, and assemble car bodies and subassemblies—delivering quality and accuracy at production speed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3–5 years of stainless MIG experience; or an accredited welding program plus 2 years of MIG experience.
  • General mechanical background.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions and communicate effectively in English.

Nice To Haves

  • AWS: Stainless GMAW 3G vertical up and 4F overhead.
  • GTAW/TIG working knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Apply advanced welding techniques to meet engineering specifications, welding standards, and tight tolerances.
  • Proactively inspect work and resolve fabrication defects while upholding craftsmanship.
  • Operate welding, hand, and power tools safely; follow PPE requirements; keep your area audit-ready.
  • Document work orders and quality checks; log hours; meet schedules, productivity metrics, and labor budgets with limited supervision.
