About The Position

This role will act as the key technical interface between the Construction and Design teams, helping ensure that design intent, construction strategy, field execution, technical quality, and issue resolution remain aligned throughout delivery. Reporting to the Construction Manager, the successful candidate will coordinate and manage the technical elements of the construction support services scope, attend weekly T-Minus meetings, and help drive practical, timely, and integrated solutions to construction and design challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Railway Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng) in Ontario.
  • Strong experience in rail or transit infrastructure delivery, ideally with hands-on exposure to construction support, design coordination, or delivery partner environments.
  • Strong technical understanding of track and civil infrastructure, including interfaces across multidisciplinary rail/transit programs.
  • Experience supporting construction teams with design clarifications, RFIs, method statements, submittits, field issues, non-conformances, change management, and technical risk resolution.
  • Ability to work effectively with construction managers, design managers, discipline leads, contractors, consultants, client representatives, and project leadership.
  • Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to translate technical information into clear actions.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced project environment and attending recurring coordination meetings, including weekly T-Minus meetings.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with major transit projects in Ontario or comparable Canadian jurisdictions is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact between the Construction and Design teams, ensuring design clarifications, field observations, technical queries, and constructability considerations are managed efficiently.
  • Manage the technical elements of the construction support services scope, with emphasis on track alignment, trackwork, civil interfaces, guideway works, and related transit infrastructure.
  • Attend all weekly T-Minus meetings, capture technical actions, follow up with accountable parties, and ensure key decisions are communicated clearly to construction and design stakeholders.
  • Support construction teams by reviewing design intent, identifying constructability risks, coordinating responses to RFIs, and helping resolve technical issues that may affect safety, quality, schedule, or sequencing.
  • Work closely with civil, track, systems, utilities, stations, operations, testing and commissioning, and project controls teams to support effective multidisciplinary delivery.
  • Support technical reviews, inspection readiness, change assessment, non-conformance resolution, and implementation of applicable project requirements, standards, specifications, and procedures.
  • Provide clear progress updates, issue summaries, technical recommendations, and escalation support to the Construction Manager and project leadership team.
