About The Position

The Neil Jones Food Company is seeking a Rail Dock Forklift Operator responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a sit-down propane forklift. This role may involve using multiple attachments for transporting containers, including pallets, drums, and bins. The operator will adhere to all safety and food safety policies and procedures, and will be responsible for documenting paperwork at the Northwest Packing plant in Vancouver, WA. This is a seasonal position supporting the fresh pack season, typically from July to November, with openings for 1st (7a-3p) and 2nd shift (3p-11p).

Requirements

  • 3+ year of experience driving forklifts and similar equipment in various positions e.g. truck dock, rail dock working with finished goods.
  • Forklift certification required.
  • Able to communicate effectively with others.
  • Able to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug test and work extended schedule, weekends, and any shift assigned during the fresh pack season, typically July to early November.

Responsibilities

  • Always Promotes Food Safety Culture as a priority through conversations, communications and actions.
  • Must be able to stack product straight with a smooth and safe manner.
  • Receives inventory and puts away raw product, finished goods and materials on work floor, able to high stack pallets of brite stock in an orderly fashion.
  • Performs daily maintenance checks on assigned forklift following internal procedures.
  • May ensure proper tags and labels are on the palletized product; ability to read labels.
