About The Position

This is a full-time Radiology Technologist position. The employer is willing to train the selected candidate in CT scanning and cover all associated CT registry costs in exchange for a signed employment commitment. The role involves performing diagnostic imaging procedures using medical imaging equipment to produce images of tissues, organs, bones, and vessels. The technologist will also take rotational call. The position primarily interacts with administration, physicians, employees, clinical and non-clinical departments, patients, visitors, vendors, and volunteers.

Requirements

High school diploma required
ARRT Licensure required
Licensure through Texas Medical Board required
Basic Life Support Certification
One year experience in radiology preferred.
Must be committed to quality and patient safety at all times.
Excellent command / highly proficient in spoken and written English.
General computer skills, including but not limited to: Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.
Must be effective at adjusting to change, prioritizing duties, handling stress and effectively communicating face-to-face and/or over the telephone.
Must be able to work independently, and flexibly, and as a part of a multidisciplinary team.
Must be able to manage several interruptions throughout the shift.
Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written.
Must have strong time management skills.
Must be able to work under pressure while interacting in a helpful, courteous manner with a high degree of patient contact.
Sufficient hearing, vision and dexterity to perform duties safely.
Category I OSHA Classification (Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues).

Responsibilities

Operate radiology equipment to make clinical diagnostic images as directed by the physicians and perform routine diagnostic procedures to facilitate the highest quality of patient care.
Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
Cooperate with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain good employee relations, interdepartmental objectives and infection control policies.
Assure radiographic and all equipment necessary for radiographic procedures is in optimal condition.
Contact equipment service companies when necessary for repair.
Maintain radiographic services in accordance with standards established by the hospital and with State and Federal standards, which may apply.
Receive requests and performs secretarial duties in absence of department secretary.
Prepare radiographic room or other equipment (portable, C.T.). Gather supplies for procedures.
File reports and distribute copies of reports to proper destination, as requested.
Provide exemplary customer service.
Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA.
Cordially demonstrate timeliness and professionalism in appearance, communications, and actions during all interactions and with all individuals and entities.
Solve practical problems, dealing with a variety of issues, and interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form.
Attend meetings as required.
