The Radiology (Diagnostic, X-Ray) Techs will travel to all locations up to approximately 50%25 of the time. Preference in locations will be considered as much as possible, but will ultimately depend on operational coverage needs. Locations: Children’s North (Wexford), Children’s South (Bridgeville), Children’s East (Monroeville), Children’s West (Moon), Children’s Express Care Cranberry (UPMC Lemieux Center), and Children’s West Mifflin.

Requirements

• Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification from ARRT-approved school of completion of program and scheduled graduation date.
• Technologists cannot work in an outpatient setting until ARRT has been obtained.
• ARRT Certificate or registry eligible.
• Must obtain ARRT Certificate within 6 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required within 30 days of hire.
• Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewals

Nice To Haves

• Candidates with an active ARRT Certificate and 1 year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Properly identifies all patients by using two patient identifiers.
• Reviews patient history, assesses physician orders, and documents patient history in electronic record, as required.
• Administers PO/enteral and rectal contrast per physician orders.
• Ensure exams are coded, tracked, networked, and charged correctly.
• Performs diagnostic radiography and other procedures utilizing established protocols/procedures.
• Utilizes complex imaging equipment for the acquisition, analysis, and documentation of image data.
• Interacts with patients and co-workers with care, dignity, and respect.
• Demonstrates the ability to communicate instructions to patients in a clear and concise manner and explain procedures to help allay the patient's fears and solicit their cooperation.
