About The Position

NaphCare is hiring a Radiology Technologist to join their team of medical professionals in Tucson, Arizona. This is a Part Time position, 20 hours per week, where the technologist will manage all aspects of healthcare for individuals incarcerated in the Pima County Detention Center. The role involves performing diagnostic x-ray procedures on patients within the facility, working alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals. This unique position offers the opportunity to make a difference to a diverse patient population with complex medical needs.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited JCERT program.
  • Active BLS Certification (AHA required).
  • Pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening.
  • Proficiency in operating various types of x-ray equipment and other imaging technologies.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and physicians.
  • Able to work independently and in a team.
  • Ability to analyze data and solve problems independently.
  • Integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.

Responsibilities

  • Performing diagnostic x-rays for various body structures, following physician orders.
  • Pulling, filing, and scanning all radiological records.
  • Scheduling, performing, and documenting all radiological testing, including annual tuberculosis testing and emergency procedures.
  • Maintaining inventory, stocking, re-ordering, and replacing radiology supplies.
  • Ensuring that all equipment related to radiology services is properly maintained and functioning.
  • Ensuring all state regulations comply with Radiation Control Programs.
