About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and skilled PRN Radiology Technologist to join our healthcare team at Logan Regional Hospital. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging exams on patients using specialized equipment. You will work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and high-quality imaging results. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of imaging techniques, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This is a PRN position. Incumbents will fill in for rotating 12 hour shifts as needed, including weekends and holidays. May be hired on as a level I or II, depending on qualifications and experience.

Requirements

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(R) certification
  • Radiologic technologist license in state of practice
  • Basic Life Support certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
  • Demonstrated experience in a variety of diagnostic areas, including acute care experience
  • Currently working in an acute care setting performing a variety of diagnostic exams, including fluoroscopy (fixed and/or c-arm) and mobile imaging.
  • IV certification—may not be required at all sites.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years radiology experience
  • May be required to complete the Medical Assistant (MA) Competency Checklist and perform the function of an MA in a clinic or InstaCare setting.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains ARRT or modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions.
  • Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam.
  • Performs exams per department protocol and reviews images for quality, clarity, and accuracy.
  • Adheres to radiation safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment.
  • Completes studies within acceptable time limits without compromising patient care or quality.
  • Assists and instructs students and other Radiology Techs in exam protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment.
  • Provides appropriate patient education, ensures patient comfort, and addresses concerns.
  • Practices appropriate infection control and sterile techniques.
  • Understands and operates equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images.
  • Keeps accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions.
  • Follows protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, QC programs, and reporting equipment failures.
