The X-Ray Technician performs digital X-ray studies on patients per the orders placed by providers. The X-Ray Technician is a multi-skilled clinical professional who works within the scope of practice to assist in patient care under the direction of the provider. This role involves safely performing provider-ordered radiographic examinations, including proper patient positioning, immobilization, and radiation protection. The technician will set up and adjust supportive and immobilization equipment, position and handle patients with safety and professionalism, and accurately document patient encounters in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Maintaining clinical and administrative skills to meet patient care and daily operational needs is essential. Additional duties may include collecting patient specimens, running point-of-care lab tests, traveling to other facilities, directing and practicing sterile technique, ordering supplies, lab and diagnostic tests, disposing of contaminated supplies, patient registration, scheduling, phone triage, cash handling, check-in/check-out, and performing scribing duties as needed.
