About The Position

Johns Hopkins Intrastaff, the internal staffing agency for the Johns Hopkins Health System and partner hospitals, is hiring a Registered Radiology Tech to perform diagnostic procedures in an outpatient setting. The role is temporary staffing support at Johns Hopkins All Children's Outpatient Care locations in Brandon and Tampa, Florida. The schedule varies. The position offers a pay rate of $35.00–$45.00 per hour, based on experience, and access to a tax-deferred annuity 401(k) retirement plan and Johns Hopkins Employer Health Program medical, dental, and vision insurance.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Completion of an AMA-accredited Radiography program.
Florida State Radiography License.
Certification from ARRT.
BLS CPR certification.
At least one year of Acute Care Pediatrics or Children's Hospital experience.

Nice To Haves

PALS certification.
NRP certification.

Responsibilities

Counsel patients on radiographic examinations.
Lift and correctly position patients onto examination tables to achieve desired radiographic results.
Determine technical factors, including voltage, current, exposure time, and focal distance, based on patient size, physical condition, and suspected pathology.
Adjust lead shields to protect unaffected parts of the patient’s anatomy.
Select and load proper film.
Position X-ray equipment at the correct distance and operate it according to specific diagnostic procedures.
Operate portable X-ray equipment and special equipment such as tomography.
Verify that patient films, examination requisitions, and records are properly completed.
Process film, reload cassettes, and review developed film for quality.
Check equipment and accessories to ensure proper operation and report malfunctioning equipment to appropriate personnel.
Transport patients as required.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Regularly check that adequate diagnostic supplies are available.
