This position performs diagnostic imaging examinations on patients, ensuring the production of quality diagnostic images. The technologist operates equipment to produce diagnostic images according to patient cases and relevant guidelines, ensuring the quality of images is satisfactory for clinical purposes. The role involves ensuring accurate patient positioning, conducting image operations according to provider requests, and implementing radiation safety guidelines. Excellent patient care and education are provided before, during, and after procedures. The ability to understand and navigate the electronic medical record (EMR) system is necessary, and willingness to perform additional duties as assigned. Facility sites may expand job responsibilities to include on-call rotation nights, weekends, and holidays, and may perform mobile imaging, electrocardiogram (EKG), cardiac monitor placement, and dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) procedures. Occupational Medicine clinics may require performing routing testing, sampling, drug screens, breath alcohol testing, and audiograms.
