About The Position

The Radiology Technologist provides clinical diagnostic imaging services, support, navigation, and/or solutions aligned with the total peri-operative process in accordance with level of experience, education, policies/procedures/protocols/standards, and established criteria. This role involves performing clinical support activities for patients within the scope of practice laws and training received, caring for patients safely by assisting in clinical care services or engaging in administrative activities that enhance the coordination, preparation, and flow of the care experience. The technologist will also maintain a working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws/regulations, Trinity Health Integrity & Compliance Program & Code of Conduct, and other policies to ensure adherence to honest, ethical, and professional behavior and safe work practices.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Graduate of an approved / accredited School of Radiology Technology
  • Current Radiographer License in the state of practice assignment
  • At least one (1) year radiology technician experience
  • Experience with C-arm & portable x-ray equipment
  • Licensed role (direct healthcare)
  • Ability to follow tasks through to completion, understand & relate to complex ideas/concepts, remember multiple tasks & regimens over long periods of time & work on concurrent tasks/projects.
  • Ability to read small print, hear sounds & voice/speech patterns, give/receive instructions & other verbal communications (in-person &/or over the phone/computer/device/equipment assigned) with some background noise.
  • Perform manual dexterity activities &/or grasping/handling.
  • Ability to climb, kneel, crouch &/or operate foot controls.
  • Use a computer / other technology.
  • Sit with the ability to vary/adjust physical position or activity.
  • Maintain a safe working environment & use available personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Comply with Trinity Health’s Code of Conduct, policies, procedures & guidelines.
  • Ability to provide assistance in the event of an emergency.
  • Perform activities that require standing/walking with the ability to vary/adjust physical position or activity.
  • Lift a maximum of 30 pounds unassisted.
  • Use upper & lower extremities, engage in bending/stooping/reaching & pushing/pulling.
  • Work indoors (subject to travel requirements) under temperature-controlled & well-lit conditions.
  • Encounter worksites (e.g., patient homes) or travel to worksites that may have variable internal & external environmental conditions.
  • Perform work that involves physical efforts (e.g., transporting, moving, positioning &/or ambulating patients).
  • Perform activities that require standing/walking with the ability to vary/adjust physical position or activity.
  • Experience of long periods of walking/standing/stooping/bending/pulling &/or pushing.
  • Encounter a clinical/patient facing/hands on interactive work environment.
  • Work indoors (subject to travel requirements) under temperature-controlled & well-lit conditions.
  • Work outdoors with variable external environmental conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Performs clinical support activities (direct) for patients within the “scope of practice” laws & training received.
  • Cares for patients safely by assisting in clinical care services or engaging in administrative activities (e.g., maintaining records or supplies) that enhance or improve coordination, preparation & flow of the care experience.
  • Plans, organizes & prioritizes workflow diagnostic imaging processes & procedures.
  • Ensures safe, efficient & effective condition/use of imaging equipment.
  • Provides imaging services to patients as directed by the Director of Nursing / Medical Director / attending physician practitioner.
  • Explains procedure to patient, answers questions & obtains consent prior to initiation.
  • Applies age-specific care practices.
  • Ensures & / or assists documentation & details records are kept.
  • Performs essential duties & techniques appropriate to role / function / procedure.
  • Participates in quality improvement processes.
  • May serve as a resource (lead), role model & / or mentor.
