The Radiology Technologist provides quality patient care when performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention while adhering to radiation safety principles. This role involves performing diagnostic imaging, exercising professional judgment, and delivering appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions. The technologist will comply with all state and federal regulations, adhere to Orlando Health's mission, assess patient needs, and provide clear instructions. Key duties include proper patient identification, acquiring clinical history, positioning patients and equipment, manipulating technical factors for image quality, and assessing images for technical quality and accuracy. The role also requires applying radiation safety principles, comprehending and complying with Quality Control standards, administering contrast medication, providing medical aid for adverse reactions, and applying standard precautions. Additionally, the technologist will assist in supervising students, training new technologists, utilizing computer systems effectively, ensuring customer safety, and maintaining regular attendance and compliance with policies.
