Radiology Technologist - Atrium Health Charlotte/South Blvd Urgent Care FT
About The Position
This is a full-time position for a Radiology Technologist at Atrium Health Charlotte/South Blvd Urgent Care. The role involves performing radiologic exams as ordered by physicians, adhering to department standard operating procedures, and selecting appropriate technical factors for each patient. The technologist will operate equipment, assist in maintaining patient records, and perform or prepare specimens for transport. The position requires the ability to handle strenuous physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds, and requires good sensory and dexterity skills. The role also demands concentration and the ability to respond quickly to changes in patient and clinic conditions.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Successful completion of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology Program required.
- Current registry with ARRT or ability to obtain registry within 6 months of hire date required.
- BLS required per policy guidelines.
- Must maintain current certification.
Nice To Haves
- 1 year experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Performs radiologic exams as ordered by physician.
- Performs routine exams in accordance with the department standard operating procedures.
- Checks requisitions for physician notes and/or special instructions.
- Consults with Radiologist or physician as necessary.
- Selects proper technical factors on individual patient basis.
- Operates equipment as directed by demands of individual exams.
- Assists in maintaining adequate patient records.
- Obtains specimens and performs certain diagnostic laboratory tests as ordered by physician.
- Prepares specimens for transport to Medical Center or State Lab for procedures not performed at the specific facility.
