Requirements

Current Radiology Tech License and Certification
Current Driver's License
Great communication skills

Responsibilities

Receive instructions from doctors and office dispatchers regarding required x-rays.
Obtain clear imaging results through proper use of x-ray equipment.
Keep patients calm and informed throughout the x-ray procedure.
Answer patient questions and address concerns about procedures.
Comply with safety regulations involving the use of radiation to protect self, patients, family members, and other staff members from overexposure to radiation.
Use a technique chart and patient-shielding (lead shields or aprons) on parts of a patient's body that are not being radiographed to lessen radiation risk.
Adjust x-ray beams (collimate) to cover a limited area, reducing radiation exposure rates.
Position the radiographic machinery at the proper distance, angle, and height from the patient.
Perform independent operation of Digital Radiography equipment.
Perform x-ray exams under the supervision of physicians.
Maintain current certifications and licensing.
Maintain a high standard of medical ethics at all times.
Provide excellent customer service with a high degree of professionalism.
