About The Position

As a Radiologic Technologist at Bethesda North Hospital, under the direction of the Radiologist and the supervision of the manager or supervisor, you will perform radiographic procedures to assist in the diagnosis of disease and injury while providing maximum benefit to patients through high-quality imaging with the lowest possible radiation exposure. Technologists are trained in multiple imaging modalities including Fluoroscopy, Operating Room imaging, ERCP, Digital Radiography, portable X-ray equipment, and DEXA scans, and demonstrate competency annually. This role is responsible for performing radiographic procedures as prescribed by a physician and in accordance with departmental policies and procedures, delivering compassionate patient care by working effectively with patients and families, maintaining cooperative relationships with interdepartmental team members, complying with infection prevention and radiation safety standards, maintaining accurate records, participating in quality assurance, supporting student education and new employee orientation, ensuring proper care of imaging equipment, completing continuing education requirements mandated by the State of Ohio, maintaining active ARRT certification and Ohio Department of Health licensure, and performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Allied Health (Required)
  • Graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program (Required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Ohio Department of Health - Ohio Radiologic License Required
  • ARRT - Radiographer Required

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates ongoing CBE's.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of equipment and its operating procedures through CBE's.
  • Selects proper imaging protocols and follows departmental procedures.
  • Demonstrates organizational and communication skills to promote the well-being of the department.
  • Maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental team members.
  • Demonstrates the ability to consistently produce and evaluate diagnostic radiographs for radiological interpretation.
  • Maintains accurate records through the completion of all paperwork.
  • Work is completed before submitting it.
  • Provides for patient, family, and staff comfort and care prior to, during, and after a procedure.
  • Recognizes and responds appropriately to emergent situations.
