About The Position
The Radiology Tech performs duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures related to diagnostic radiology for the diagnosis and treatment.
Requirements
- Must be licensed by the Louisiana Board of Radiologic Technology Examiners.
- Registered in Radiologic Technology by the American Registry of Radiological Technologist required or must obtain registration within 90 days of employment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and instruct patients for radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.
- Perform diagnostic radiology exams, including surgery and standard x-rays.
- Accurately record and file patient information, reports, and related documentation.
- Monitor and report supply inventory needs to the Radiology Coordinator.
- Assist fellow technologists and support training of students and new staff.
- Monitor equipment performance, warm up x-ray tubes, and report malfunctions.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, peers, and patients; maintain patient confidentiality.
- Prioritize tasks to maximize efficiency and perform duties with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrate initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently.
