About The Position

The Radiologic Technologist obtains diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level. The role is a day-shift, full-time position in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab at Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center in Montclair, New Jersey. The position involves patient identification and communication, portable X-ray examinations, radiation protection, electronic medical record data entry, room preparation, and compliance with HIPAA policies and procedures.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
New Jersey Diagnostic Radiology licensure and ARRT certification.
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and before providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

Identify each patient before the examination using two patient identifiers according to hospital policy.
Help patients cooperate by reducing anxiety, explaining treatment, and answering questions.
Perform portable X-ray examinations in patient rooms, operating rooms, and the emergency room.
Provide patients with lead protective shields to reduce radiation exposure as low as reasonably achievable.
Accept assignments from the Medical Imaging Coordinator regarding room assignments and work to be completed.
Enter data using electronic medical records.
Prepare examination and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.
Maintain policies and procedures related to HIPAA compliance.
