About The Position

OrthoCarolina is seeking a Radiology Technologist for their Concord OUC office. The role involves providing diagnostic quality radiographs while ensuring patient and employee safety from radiation. The technologist will work with physicians and physician assistants, maintain equipment, manage supplies, and assist with patient flow and transportation. Requirements

  • Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the American Medical Association.
  • Minimum of one year experience as an x-ray tech with an orthopedic background.
  • Registered Radiology Tech by American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (AART) or ARRT registry eligible.
  • Ability to operate various manufacturer types of Radiology suite equipment (e.g., Siemens/GE/Philips).
  • Proficient use of various manufacturer types of Digital Radiology (DR) and Computer Radiology (CR) reader systems.
  • Skill in identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor.
  • Skill in positioning patients properly and performing quality diagnostic radiographs.
  • Observes safety and security procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Current CPR certification recommended.

Responsibilities

  • Provide diagnostic quality radiographs for physicians and/or physician assistants.
  • Protect employees and patients from unnecessary radiation and usage of appropriate protection standards.
  • Demonstrate competency in positioning of all radiological procedures as prescribed by departmental policy.
  • Communicate with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, confirm acknowledgment of patients' understanding and address any questions or concerns.
  • Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations and provide patient with radiation protection and safety in accordance with prescribed methods.
  • Log radiological procedures completed, process charges and related paperwork using computer equipment as directed.
  • Maintain cleanliness of examination rooms and stock necessary medical and/or radiological supplies in the department.
  • Ensure compliance with all OrthoCarolina policy and procedures.
  • Assist with the transportation of patients between the examination module(s) and the Radiology department.
  • Assist with patient flow in the examination module(s) as directed by a supervisor.
