About The Position

Shriners Children’s Texas is seeking a skilled and caring Radiology Technologist to join their collaborative and mission-driven team. This is a per diem position within the Radiology Department, playing a key role in diagnosing and caring for young patients. The role involves performing diagnostic imaging examinations for the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric patients, which may include fractures, diseases, and abnormalities of patient anatomy. The technologist will be responsible for accurately positioning patients and ensuring quality radiographic images are produced. They will work closely with radiologists and physicians, communicate and document patient images, and maintain communication with patients, parents, and medical personnel. The position also requires a commitment to personal growth and professional development, including effective communication with peers and supervisors and flexibility during unexpected work events.

Requirements

  • Associate's in Radiologic Technology from an accredited radiologic technology program.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification/registration.
  • Texas Medical Branch Radiologic Technologist state license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certified by the American Heart Association.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years pediatric and/or orthopedic radiology experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic imaging examinations for the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric patients, including fractures, diseases, and abnormalities of patient anatomy.
  • Accurately position patients and ensure quality radiographic images are produced.
  • Work closely with radiologists and physicians who interpret images to diagnose or rule out disease or injury.
  • Communicate and document patient images.
  • Maintain communication with patients, parents, and medical personnel.
  • Maintain an on-going plan for personal growth and self-development.
  • Demonstrate professional role requirements related to communication with peers and supervisor and flexibility during unexpected work related events.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
